Self-care is a lot of work for a Ragdoll cat. A rag doll has a lot of semi-long hair. Bowie even has long hair under his paws and between his toes. Many Ragdoll cats can take care of their own fur, but because ragdolls are big cats, they cannot reach everything, so they can get knots in their fur which can lead to matting. So it is important to comb the fur of a ragdoll cat once a week to prevent knots.
