Feeding your Hypothyroid cat

feeding my elderly cat who has a poor appetite and has lost a lot of weight due to an underactive Thyroid.
Peanut had part of his thyroid removed in 2012 but although he recovered a little weight afterwards, within 6 months his weight plummeted again.
I have decided not to put Peanut through any more surgical procedures or Vidalta medication which made him sick. Instead we will feed him well and love him lots and give him the best life possible in his remaining time with us.
