With a cat urinary tract infection there are few things that can help a little. Encourage them to drink water, keep the litter box clean. The vet will do a urinalysis do check for white blood cells and crystals in the urine. When cats metabolize food, a certain percentage of cats do not do a good job with that, resulting in crystals that cause cystitis. Crystal formation can be formed as the result of the diet. With males, it can be very dangerous if they have accumulated crystals and other debris that blocks the urine. If crystals are found they will put on a diet to help eliminate the problem.
