Gar Fishing and Catching Catfish

Gar Fishing!?! I caught a gar a few weeks ago and I can't seem to get it out of my head. I'm totally hooked! They are the top of the line fighter and I hear that they're good eating. (Haven't tried that yet) So I'm headed out to go bank fishing and get my next gar fix and I'm only bringing my poles,cast net, and bait bucket...no store bought catfish bait. It turns out that these gar are pretty hard to catch unless you let them swallow the bait. But I was catching catfish and dinner. So I'm happy with the trip.
