Tsukiko’s babies were born in their custom made delivery box. We placed this box in a children’s play pen, and they will stay there until they succeed in climbing out of the playpen.
New-born babies can’t keep their bodies warm, so they need a controlled environment. Therefor we place a source of heat in the delivery box. This electronic mat covers only half the surface of the box, so Mummy is able to regulate the warmth in the delivery box.
The first week Mum and her babies are completely satisfied and you only hear Mums soft purring sounds and the babies drinking. Everything changes when we have to weigh he tiny sweethearts! It’s very important to avoid stress and Mummy is always very attentive when we handle her babies. We invest a lot of attention in our Bengals, so she trust us but nevertheless he keeps a sharp look out. Her Babies however don’t like leaving Mummy at all and they cry their little hearts out. After weighing them we quickly take pictures and return them to Mummy: showing her her baby, letting her smell it in order to assure her that we are giving her the baby back. It always is a heart-breaking experience, but it is necessary to check their development bi weighing the babies. In this video you could witness a some important moments of our daily routine.
