It's extremely easy to inhibit creativity, says Dr. Hans Wigzell. He explains that if you try to create something in a rational way - the risk is that you will fail. Wigzell calls on us to protect chaos and allow individual freedom in the organization in order to foster a creative environment in which employees and students can thrive and have fun whilst being productive.
Hans Wigzell is Professor Emeritus in Immunology at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. He has held the distinguished academic positions of Chairman of the Nobel Prize Committee at Karolinska Institutet and President of Karolinska Institutet. Wigzell has also been head of the Swedish National Laboratory of Bacteriology and the Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control and scientific advisor to the Swedish government.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
